PA (Polyamide / Nylon)

Polyamide (Nylon) ranks first among the five major engineering plastics. It is a general term for a family of resins, including PA6, PA66, PA11, PA12 and other grades. Core features: excellent mechanical properties featured by high strength, outstanding wear resistance and repeated‑impact resistance; low friction coefficient and inherent self‑lubricity. It delivers good chemical resistance, especially superior oil‑resistance and solvent‑resistance. It has a wide service‑temperature range; glass‑fiber reinforced grades can sustain long‑term heat resistance above 150 °C. Its main drawback is high water absorption, which causes dimensional change and property fluctuation (water absorption improves toughness yet reduces rigidity).

Main Applications

Automotive industry (largest application sector, around one‑third consumption): engine peripheral components such as cylinder‑head covers, fuel hoses, brake tubes, radiator tanks, gearboxes, safety‑belt mechanisms and other parts.

Mechanical industry: wear‑resistant transmission parts including bearings, gears, cams, pump impellers, valve seats and sealing rings.

Electrical & electronics: coil bobbins, cable connectors, junctions and cable ties.

Consumer goods & packaging: food‑contact nylon film, fishing nets, ropes, tooth‑brush bristles, combs, durable zippers, sneaker uppers and other articles.
